ASS composition
Active ingredient: Each effervescent tablet contains 200 mg acetylcysteine.
Indications for use
Acute and chronic respiratory tract diseases accompanied by the formation of thick, difficult-to-expel mucus, such as: acute and chronic bronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchiectasis, bronchial asthma, bronchiolitis, as well as cystic fibrosis, acute and chronic sinusitis, inflammation of the middle ear (otitis media) — secretolytic therapy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine or to any of the excipients. Active peptic ulcer. Children under 2 years of age.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Pregnancy Information about exposure of pregnant women to the effects of acetylcysteine is limited. Animal studies have not shown that it affects pregnancy, embryo/fetal development, labor, or postnatal development. Acetylcysteine may be used during pregnancy only after a careful assessment of the benefit-risk ratio. Lactation There is no information about the transfer of the product into breast milk.

How to use ASS and dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed, it is recommended to take ASS in the following doses: Adults and adolescents over 14 years: 1 effervescent tablet 2–3 times daily (equivalent to 400–600 mg acetylcysteine per day). Adolescents and children from 6 to 14 years: 1 effervescent tablet twice daily (equivalent to 400 mg acetylcysteine per day). Children from 2 to 5 years: ½ effervescent tablet 2–3 times daily (equivalent to 200–300 mg acetylcysteine per day). Cystic fibrosis: Adolescents and children over 6 years: 1 effervescent tablet 3 times daily (equivalent to 600 mg acetylcysteine per day). Children from 2 to 6 years: ½ effervescent tablet 4 times daily (equivalent to 400 mg acetylcysteine per day). Method of use: Take orally after dissolving. The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of drinking water and taken after meals. Fluid intake enhances the mucolytic effect of acetylcysteine. Duration of use: For short-term acute cold-related illnesses, the treatment duration is 5–7 days.
In chronic bronchitis and cystic fibrosis, the product should be taken for a longer period to achieve infection prophylaxis.
