About Us
Our company was founded in January 1998. The first pharmacy, named İstanbul, was opened near the Elmlər Akademiyası metro station. From the very beginning, the İstanbul pharmacy, which formed the foundation of Avis’ mission and vision, became a true symbol of trust and high-quality service for the public. Within a short period of time, the reputation of our pharmacy reached various regions of the country. This trust made it inevitable to open a second branch. Thus, in September of the same year, our second pharmacy, Avropa, was launched at R. Rza Street, 23/7, in the well-known “Targovaya” area of the city. At the time, Avropa was considered one of the most outstanding and exemplary pharmacies. It attracted not only local residents but also foreign visitors, leaving them impressed. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff also stood out as a distinctive feature of that era.
At this point, we would like to briefly share the history behind the name Avis: Until 2005, the company operated with two pharmacies. Over time, it sought to unite its values under a single brand and become a recognized name. To achieve this, an internal “name-finding contest” was held among our employees who embodied these values. The name AVIS, derived from the first letters of the two pharmacies (Avropa and İstanbul), was chosen as it met all the requirements. From then on, all three of the company’s active pharmacies were united under the AVIS brand.
