Adalzit, international non-proprietary name: Adapalene/Benzoyl Peroxide.
ADALZIT GEL composition
In 1 g of gel: 0.1% (1 mg) adapalene and 3.3% (33 mg) benzoyl peroxide.
Excipients: sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate, disodium edetate dihydrate, carbomer 940, sodium hydroxide, propylene glycol, light liquid paraffin, octyldodecanol, isopropyl myristate, butylated hydroxytoluene, myristyl, purified water.
ADALZIT GEL indications
Used for local treatment of acne vulgaris (pimples) accompanied by comedones, papules, and pustules in individuals aged 9 years and older.
Contraindications
High sensitivity to adapalene and/or benzoyl peroxide or to other excipients.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
• It should not be used during pregnancy.
• It may be used during lactation, but contact of the skin with the baby must be avoided.
ADALZIT GEL directions for use
• Once daily—at evenings—apply in a thin layer to clean, dry skin
• Do not allow it to get into the eyes, lips, or nostrils
• Wash hands after use
• In children (9–11 years), it should be used under medical supervision
• The duration of use is determined by the doctor; irritation may occur in the first weeks, and in this case use may be stopped or reduced
Side effects
Frequently: skin dryness, local redness, peeling, burning, irritation, contact dermatitis
Sometimes: itching, sunburn
With unknown frequency: allergic reactions, facial swelling, skin pain, stinging, inflammation
