Akriderm SK composition

In 100 g of ointment there is 0.064 g betamethasone dipropionate (0.05 g equivalent to betamethasone) and 3 g salicylic acid, relative to 100% of the substance. Excipients: liquid paraffin, petrolatum. White to yellowish-white, semi-transparent ointment with a characteristic odor is acceptable. Group: Glucocorticosteroid + keratolytic agent.

Indications for use

Causes glucocorticosteroid to penetrate deeper. Local treatment of dermatoses accompanied by hyperkeratosis: psoriasis, limited and diffuse neurodermatitis, red flat lichen, eczema, dyshidrotic dermatitis, ichthyosis and ichthyosis-like changes.

Contraindications

High sensitivity to any component of the product, skin tuberculosis, perioral dermatitis, warts (rosacea), trophic ulcers in the setting of chronic venous insufficiency, skin tumors (skin cancer, nevus, atheroma, epithelioma, melanoma, chickenpox, simple herpes (lichen), post-vaccinal hemangioma of the skin, xanthoma, sarcoma); skin manifestations of syphilis, age period, open wounds, lactation period, children under 1 year of age.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The safety of local use of glucocorticosteroids in pregnant women has not been established. Prescription of this group of medicinal products is justified only if the potential benefit outweighs the possible risk. This group of preparations should not be used in high doses and/or for a long time. It has not been determined whether, during local use, they penetrate into breast milk; therefore, during use of the product in the lactation period, the question of stopping breastfeeding should be addressed.

How to use and dosage of Akriderm SK

Akriderm SK is applied in a thin layer to the affected area of the skin 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening. The frequency of use depends on the severity of the disease; in cases where it can be determined by the doctor, usually using the ointment once a day is sufficient. In more severe lesions, it may be necessary to use the ointment more frequently.

Pharmacological properties

It is a combined product for external use with anti-allergy, antiseptic, and keratolytic effects. Betamethasone dipropionate is a glucocorticosteroid that has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, anti-edema, and anti-itch effects. It inhibits the accumulation, in the focus of inflammation, of lysosomal enzymes and the release of pro-inflammatory mediators; it prevents the development of inhibition of phagocytosis, reduces vascular-to-tissue permeability. Special instructions and precautions

If signs of high sensitivity or skin irritation are noted with the use of the product, it is necessary to stop and provide the patient with appropriate treatment. During long-term treatment, when the product is applied to large areas of the skin, when using an occlusive dressing, and also when used in children, systemic absorption of glucocorticosteroids is possible. From the age of 1 year, the product should be used only for strict indications and under medical supervision, so that the systemic effects associated with betamethasone

Side effects

Development of n is possible; when using bandages on large areas and/or under occlusion, inhibition of the function of the hypothalamus–pituitary–adrenal system and the development of hypercortisolism symptoms are possible. Decreased excretion of growth hormone and increased intracranial pressure may be observed. After long-term treatment with effective glucocorticosteroids, atrophic changes may occur on the facial skin more frequently than in other parts of the body. In this case, the course of treatment should not exceed 5 days. The ointment is not intended for use in ophthalmology; it should not get into the eyes. Use should be carried out gradually. After use, irritation from treatment with the product, a burning sensation during local use of glucocorticosteroids, dryness of the skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, rash resembling warts, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, and allergic contact dermatitis may be observed. When used on large areas, especially in children, and also under an occlusive dressing, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, prickly heat, and purpura may occur. The systemic appearance of glucocorticosteroids and salicylates is possible. If any additional side effect not mentioned in this leaflet occurs, you should consult a doctor.
