Aldes 5mg tablets are an antihistamine medicine containing the active ingredient desloratadine. Each tablet contains, in addition to 5 mg desloratadine active substance, excipients such as lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, starch (mixed) and magnesium stearate. This medicine is used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
The daily dose for adults and children over 12 years of age is 1 tablet (5 mg). The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water once daily, regardless of meals. It is more advisable to take the medicine at the same time each day.
The duration of treatment is determined based on the doctor’s recommendation. In allergic rhinitis, treatment may be stopped after symptoms disappear, but can be restarted if there is renewed exposure.
Aldes tablets belong to the new generation of antihistamine medicines and are a strong selective H1-receptor blocker. This medicine effectively eliminates the main symptoms of allergic reactions—itching, sneezing, nasal congestion, and redness and watering of the eyes. Desloratadine is absorbed quickly and begins to work within 30 minutes. The effect of the medicine lasts for 24 hours and has no sedative effect.
Individual hypersensitivity to the medicine, severe liver impairment, and use during the first trimester of pregnancy are contraindications. In children under 12 years of age, in breastfeeding mothers, and in patients with impaired kidney function, it should be used with caution. Taking it together with alcohol is not recommended. If allergy symptoms persist or worsen, you should consult a doctor.
