Pregnancy Based on general pharmacotherapy indications, during pregnancy the medicine may be prescribed only considering the benefits and risks it can provide. Since no studies have been conducted on patients during pregnancy and breastfeeding, treatment with thioctic (alpha-lipoic) acid in this group of patients should be carried out only under the advice and supervision of a physician. Breastfeeding There is no information regarding the penetration of thioctic (alpha-lipoic) acid into breast milk. It is recommended to consult a doctor and pharmacist before using any medication.

Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate other potentially dangerous machinery

During treatment, caution is required when engaging in potentially dangerous activities that require driving a vehicle and high attention as well as rapid psychomotor responses.

ALFALIP dosage and method of administration

The product is administered intravenously using a drip method. In adults, Alfalip is administered directly from the vial (i.e., without a solvent) at a daily dose of 600 mg (1 vial) over at least 30 minutes. Intravenous administration of the solution is also possible via an infusion pump; in this case, the administration time must also not be less than 30 minutes. The course of treatment is 2–4 weeks.

After that, for supportive treatment, patients are switched to taking oral dosage forms of thioctic (alpha-lipoic) acid (capsules) at daily doses of 600 mg. The duration of the treatment course and the need for its repetition are determined by the physician. Due to the light sensitivity of thioctic (alpha-lipoic) acid, infusion solutions should be stored in the cardboard box until they are used.
