Alfasart composition

Active ingredient: 600 mg alpha-lipoic acid is contained in 1 tablet

Contraindications

High sensitivity to alpha-lipoic acid or to any of the components of the medicinal product.
Children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Pregnancy
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking the product.
The product may be used during pregnancy only on the advice of a doctor. If you find out that you are pregnant during treatment,
consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Lactation
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking the product.
It is not known whether alpha-lipoic acid passes into breast milk. The decision to stop treatment with the product or to stop
feeding with breast milk can only be made by a doctor.

Directions for use and dosage

Always use the product as recommended by your doctor. If you are not sure,
contact your doctor
or pharmacist.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, one
tablet should be taken once daily, 30 minutes before breakfast.
How to take the product
Alfasart is taken with liquid, without chewing, and on an empty stomach.
Taking food at the same time may reduce the absorption of alpha-lipoic acid. For this reason,
the tablets should be taken half an hour before breakfast, especially in patients with
problems of long-term gastric emptying.
Since diabetic neuropathy is a chronic condition, Alfasart can be taken for life.
The doctor should prescribe the product depending on the patient’s condition.
Different age groups
Children: There is no clinical experience with the use of Alfasart in children and adolescents.
Therefore, the product should not be used in children and in patients aged 10–19 years (adolescents).
Elderly: No special studies have been conducted in elderly patients (> 65 years).
Patients with renal or hepatic impairment
No dose adjustment is required for patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
When you feel that the effect of the Alfasart product is too strong or too weak,
inform your doctor or pharmacist.
If the use of Alfasart is forgotten
A double dose should not be used to make up for a missed dose.
If treatment with Alfasart is stopped
Do not stop taking the product without consulting your doctor. When
taking the product is stopped, the disease may worsen.
