Allerdes, international non-proprietary name: Desloratadine
Allerdes composition
Active ingredient: In 5 ml (1 measuring spoon) of syrup there is 2.5 mg desloratadine.
Indications
Allerdes is used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, runny nose and itching, nasal congestion, as well as itching, swelling and redness of the eyes, itching of the palate and cough. It is also used to eliminate symptoms such as rash, watery discharge and redness that may occur during urticaria.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to desloratadine, loratadine, or any of the excipients.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Unless necessary, Allerdes should not be used during pregnancy. Since desloratadine passes into breast milk, the product should not be used during lactation.
Use in pediatrics
Used in children over 6 months. 6–11 months: 2 ml; 1–5 years: 2.5 ml; 6–11 years: 5 ml; 12 years and older: 10 ml daily dose. Can be taken with food or separately.
Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate other potentially dangerous machinery
Allerdes usually does not cause drowsiness, but in some patients insomnia may be observed. Therefore, it should be used with caution depending on the individual response.
How to use Allerdes
6–11 months: 2 ml
1–5 years: 2.5 ml (1/2 measuring spoon)
6–11 years: 5 ml (1 measuring spoon)
12 years and older: 10 ml (2 measuring spoons)
The product is taken once daily. In intermittent allergic rhinitis, treatment is stopped when symptoms decrease; in persistent cases, continuous use is recommended.
