ALMAGEL composition

The composition of ALMAGEL contains 2.18 g of aluminum hydroxide gel (corresponding to 218 mg of aluminum oxide) and 350 mg of magnesium hydroxide paste (corresponding to 75 mg of magnesium oxide) in 5 ml of suspension

Almagel, indications for use

Symptomatic treatment of diseases of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum accompanied by increased gastric acidity; esophagitis, hiatal hernia; gastroesophageal reflux disease; acute and chronic gastritis and gastroenteritis; peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum; post-resection gastritis and gastroanastomosis; prevention of stomach and duodenum pathology (to reduce the effect of irritating medicines).

Contraindications

High sensitivity to the components of the product; severe renal insufficiency — risk of hypermagnesemia and aluminum intoxication.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

During pregnancy, it is used only when the benefit to the mother is greater than the risk to the fetus, and only for no more than 5–6 days. It is not used in pregnancy toxicosis. During lactation, based on the same principle, it may be used for no more than 5–6 days.

Dosage and method of use

Adults and children over 14 years: 5–10 ml (1–2 measuring tablespoons or 1 sachet) 3–4 times a day. If necessary, the dose may be increased up to 15 ml. After the desired effect is achieved, the dose is reduced to 5 ml or 1 sachet. Treatment course: 2–3 months. Ages 10–14: half the adult dose. For prevention: 5–15 ml (1–3 measuring tablespoons) 15 minutes before irritating medicines. Before use, shake the bottle; it is recommended not to drink any liquid within 15 minutes after taking the product.
