ALMAGEL A, suspension for oral use

ALMAGEL A composition

The composition of ALMAGEL A contains 2.18 g of aluminum hydroxide gel (corresponding to 218 mg of aluminum oxide) in 5 ml (1 measuring spoon) of suspension, 350 mg of magnesium hydroxide paste (corresponding to 75 mg of magnesium oxide), and 109 mg of benzocaine.

Almagel A, indications for use

Short-term symptomatic treatment of inflammatory and erosive changes accompanied by pain, nausea, and vomiting; acute or chronic inflammation, or any other pathology, of the mucous membrane of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.

Contraindications

High sensitivity to any component of the product; severe forms of renal failure—risk of hypermagnesemia and aluminum intoxication; childhood—risk of methemoglobinemia; pregnancy and lactation.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.

Directions for use and dosage

Prescribed for adults. Almagel A is taken 3–4 times a day, 5–10 ml (1–2 measuring spoons), 15 minutes before meals. The maximum course of treatment is 6–7 days. After that, treatment is continued with Almagel. After using the product, do not take liquids within 15 minutes. Before use, shake the suspension and homogenize it. If one dose is missed, take it at the next scheduled time without increasing the dose.
