AMBROLITIN, 15 mg/5 ml syrup

Composition of AMBROLITIN

Active ingredient: 15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride is contained in 5 ml of syrup.

Indications for use

It is used to facilitate the removal of phlegm in acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system, which are manifested by the formation of thick phlegm in the respiratory tract, and to make coughing easier.

Contraindications

Allergy to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients of the syrup (hypersensitivity).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Before taking any medicinal product, consult your doctor or pharmacist. The safety of using this medicinal product during pregnancy has not been established; therefore, its use during pregnancy is not recommended, especially during the first trimester. Ambrolitin passes into breast milk. Although no adverse effects on the breastfed child are expected, the use of the medicinal product is not recommended during lactation.

Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate other potentially dangerous machinery

There is no information about the negative effect of the Ambrolitin preparation on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

How to use Ambrolitin and dosage

Always take the Ambrolitin preparation exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are unsure about anything, ask your doctor. The syrup is taken orally during mealtimes. Usual dose: Adults and children over 12 years: for the first 2–3 days – 10 ml three times a day, then the dose can be reduced – 10 ml twice a day.

Children: - from 6 to 12 years – 5 ml 2–3 times a day. - from 2 to 6 years – 2.5 ml three times a day. - under 2 years – 2.5 ml twice a day. Ambrolitin syrup can be used in children under 2 years only after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

Elderly patients: In elderly patients, the dose does not differ from the dose for adults. Patients with liver and kidney diseases: In this category of patients, 1/2 of the dose recommended for adults is used. Do not use the medicinal product for more than 5 days without the advice of your doctor. If you forget to take a dose of Ambrolitin: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible.

If it is almost time for your next dose, you can take it as your usual dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Continue taking the medicinal product as prescribed by your treating physician.
