Ametazon, international non-proprietary name: Mometasone
Ametazon composition
Active ingredient: In 1 g of ointment, there is 1 mg of mometasone furoate.
Indications for use
Psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and all dermatoses that respond positively to treatment with corticosteroids.
Contraindications
High sensitivity to the product, rosacea, acne vulgaris, skin atrophy, pruritus in the perianal and genital areas, perioral dermatitis, skin infections (bacterial, parasitic, viral, and fungal), diaper dermatitis, chickenpox, tuberculosis, syphilis, post-vaccination reactions. Do not apply to wounds or ulcers.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Pregnancy category C. During pregnancy and lactation, it may be used only when the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Use in large doses and for long-term treatment is not recommended.
Use in pediatrics
Use in children under 2 years of age is not recommended. In children, because the ratio of skin surface area to the body is higher, sensitivity to glucocorticosteroids increases. There is a risk of developing Cushing’s syndrome and HHS disorders when used on more than 20% of the skin surface area or when treatment is stopped. Atrophic changes in the skin and use in diaper dermatitis are not recommended.
Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate other potentially dangerous machinery
Ametazon ointment has no effect on driving vehicles or operating other potentially dangerous machinery.
How to use Ametazon
The ointment is applied to the affected area of the skin once daily in a thin layer. It is used in children over 2 years of age with the same dosing. The duration of treatment should not exceed 5 days.
