Composition and method of use

Aminoplasmal B. Braun 10% 500 ml is a balanced solution of amino acids and is a medical product used in parenteral nutrition. The product contains 18 types of amino acids, including 8 essential amino acids (isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, valine). It also contains non-essential amino acids (alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, proline, serine, taurine).

The product is administered only as an intravenous infusion under the supervision of a physician. The daily dose for adults is calculated according to 1.0–1.5 g/kg of body weight. The infusion rate must not exceed 0.1 g/kg of body weight per hour. For children, the dosage is determined individually by the doctor based on age and weight.

Before use, the solution’s color and clarity must be checked. The product should be used at room temperature; if it has been stored in a refrigerator, it should be warmed to room temperature before administration. After opening, it must be used immediately and any remaining portion must be discarded.

Key features and contraindications

This product is intended to restore the balance of amino acids and support protein synthesis. It is used especially after surgical procedures, during periods of severe illness, in cases of malnutrition, and in situations where normal nutrition is not possible. The product is also recommended to meet the increased protein needs during major burns and trauma. It provides the body’s amino acid requirements without disrupting electrolyte balance.

The use of the product is contraindicated in disorders of amino acid metabolism, severe liver and kidney failure, metabolic acidosis, and hyperammonemia. During pregnancy and lactation, it may be used only on the basis of strict medical indication. During infusion, the patient’s overall condition, laboratory parameters, and vital signs must be monitored continuously. Side effects may include allergic reactions, fever, and irritation at the site of the vessel.
