ANALGIN composition
ANALGIN composition: each tablet contains 500 mg metamizole sodium
Analgin indications
Moderate and severe pain (head, tooth, neuralgia, neuritis, myalgia, trauma, burns, post-operative pain, phantom pains, algodysmenorrhea, oncological diseases, kidney and liver colic), fever.
Contraindications
Allergy to metamizole or other components; acute hepatic porphyria; G6PD deficiency; severe kidney and liver diseases; impaired bone marrow function or blood diseases; pregnancy (last 3 months).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy. In the second trimester, it is possible only based on the benefit/risk ratio. Use in the last 3 months is not recommended. During lactation, metamizole breakdown products pass into breast milk—therefore, repeated use should be avoided. With a single dose, breastfeeding should not be done for 48 hours.
Directions for use and dosage
Tablets are taken orally. Adults and children over 15 years (more than 53 kg): 500–1000 mg (1–2 tablets), if necessary up to 4 times a day (maximum 4000 mg/day). For children under 14 years: 8–16 mg/kg, 4 times a day. In patients over 65 years, dose reduction is usually not required, but caution should be used in cases of liver and kidney disorders. Maximum duration of use: 3–5 days. Concomitant use with alcoholic beverages is not recommended.
